Super Star!

On Thursday, 3/12/09, Adams Elementary had their 3rd quarter Super Star assembly. Each quarter of the year every classroom teacher selects a child that is their outstanding "Super Star" student and this time it was Isaiah! They have a big assembly and announce the kiddos, they get a gift bag, a family photo with their teacher posted in the hall for the next quarter, and sometime special from the principal. Our entire family went and it was great! Mrs. Andres introduced Isaiah by comparing him to President Obama, both because they have moms that were born in Kansas and dads that were born in Africa, but moreso because they are such leaders. She said many nice things about him and of course it made his mother cry. Surprisingly he had no idea it was going to be him. When he came home from school I asked him what he thought and how he felt. He told me that when she said the mom & dad stuff he thought it might be him but when she said his name he was so surprised that it made him cry. Awwww, my baby is just like me!!! Obviously we're very proud of him!
