So on Sunday night I was working on the computer and Isaac brought me this blanket that he wanted me to use to wrap a "present" for his brother. The present was just some toy he'd found and as usual he was having fun pretending. So I wrapped the blanket around and handed it back. Not good enough! He wanted it taped. I told him I wasn't taping a blanket. He then suggested I use one of my hair rubber bands. Isn't he a smarty pants?! So I put a rubber band around it, making it a nice, compact, oval-shaped thing that pleased him. Then I hear him in the room talking about his baby and how she needs a diaper on. Next thing I know he brings me this wrapped blanket with a kleenex and wants me to tape the kleenex (diaper) onto the baby (wrapped blanket). I told him it wasn't big enough and to get some toilet paper. I started to wrap it around and he got quite irritated because, "diapers don't go like that, they go between their legs!" How dare I not know where this oval blanket's legs were! So after going around the "waist" I went up between the "legs" and it now looked like a sumo wrestler! I taped the "diaper" in place and Isaac was thrilled. I heard him go back to the room with his baby and he began playing with it and talking to it. Then I heard him introduce the baby to Isaiah as his baby, this is Madison. I have no idea where that name came from but thought it was too cute! Then the two of them spent some time playing with baby Madison quite nicely...until Isaiah decided her diaper was wet, needed changing, and ripped it off. You would have thought the world ended by how Isaac scolded him. I assured him that babies do need their diapers changed and so collectively the three of us gave "baby Madison" a new toilet paper sumo wrestler diaper and the world was at peace again in the Maikori household. Then about 45 minutes later Isaac declared that Madison was no longer a girl. "She is now a boy and her name is Bubbalicious Thomas." Hahahaha! For those that don't know, Isaac's nickname is Bubba, which frequently turns into other variations like Bubbalicious. His real middle name is Thomas so I guess his new baby boy was named after him....in some way. Needless to say, you've got to enjoy the humor and excitement that goes on around our house in the lives of the 4 & 6 year olds and the grown ups that get to live with them! Certainly made me smile! The best part is that he's slept with "baby Bubbalicious Thomas" since!
